Bernhard Rieder

Guest Lecturer

Bernhard Rieder is an assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam and the Département Hypermédia at the Université de Paris VIII in the field of information and communication science.

His research is done in the context of Laboratoire Paragraphe where he is a member of the dynamic hypertext group.

His work is centered on the theory, critique, and implementation of the concept of "delegation". He tries to understand how we can introduce the cultural, ethical, and political sensibility of the humanities to the process of software / application / web design. A part of that work consists of developing a tool that allows for the delegation of certain cognitive and social tasks.

In his program Bernhard collaborates with Yuri Engelhardt in workshops for students from the MA New Media and MA Information Science (University of Amsterdam) and maHKU Editorial Design.
